Foals’ Next Album Will Show the Band’s Intense and Heavy Side

2019 is a big year for Foals as they are releasing not one but two albums this year. Part two of the double album Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost is almost here, and lead vocalist Yannis Philippakis described it as “rock record with a capital R”.

The
Oxford-based band recently performed at Big Weekend Fest, and Philippakis used
this opportunity to share some exciting news about their next record.

“There’s
a couple of mix tweaks to do, but it’s all there. We’re just really excited for
people to hear that ‘cause I think it’s gonna show a different side to the
project, if not the band. It’s quite different from Part 1,” said Foals
frontman while chatting with NME.

While the first album embraced new wave sound, Philippakis said they wanted to deliver a much heavier record with its follow-up.

“There’s
a 10-minute awesome space jam – like a Stanley Kubrick prog epic – and then
there’s just some big riffs all over the record. It’s more of a rock record
with a capital R – maybe two R’s,” concluded Philippakis, and added they’ll be putting
out another 10 songs in a few months.
