Elton John, Public Enemy Recordings Added to the Grammy Hall of Fame

The Recording Academy has announced the list of artists inducted to the Grammy Hall of Fame this year, and it includes some of the biggest legends in the music industry such as Elton John, Public Enemy, and Joni Mitchell.

The full list features a total of 26 tracks that are at least 25 years old and that “exhibit qualitative or historical significance.” The Grammy Hall Of Fame has been around for 47 years, and it currently features a total of 1,114 recordings displayed at the Grammy Museum.

Deborah
Dugan, president and CEO of the Recording Academy, said that it’s their distinct
privilege to preserve a piece of cultural and music history with their Hall of
Fame.

“We are so honored to welcome these timeless masterpieces to our growing catalog of iconic recordings that serve as a beacon of music excellence and diverse expression that will forever impact and inspire generations of creators,” the press release reads.

Some
of the songs and albums inducted this year are Neil Diamond’s “Sweet
Caroline”, Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer”, Eurythmics’ “Sweet Dreams”,
Joni Mitchell’s Clouds and Public
Enemy’s It Takes a Nation of Millions to
Hold Us Back
