Green Day’s new album is about a month away, and if you’re gearing up for a whole hour of new material, you might be disappointed. The band’s frontman Billie Joe Armstrong recently revealed their next record will be only 26 minutes long.
The Green Day vocalist recently discussed the band’s upcoming album with Kerrang! and explained why it will feature less than half an hour of new material.
“I’ve
decided that I don’t like long songs, and that’s coming from a band that wrote Jesus Of Suburbia! If I’m listening to
other people’s music, I always look at how long the song is. If it’s over three
minutes I go, ‘Urgh, pass. I don’t wanna listen to that s—t,’” said Armstrong.
Father of All Motherf—ers
is set to be released on February 7th, and the legendary band already released
the lead single of the same name. It’s two and a half minutes long, and judging
by Armstrong’s words, the rest of the tracks on this album won’t significantly
surpass its duration.
